Uncle Kevin (a Wiradjuri man), was a man of great patience, strength, wisdom and understanding – a devoted family man.
He was a builder that passed on his knowledge teaching the trade in numerous NSW TAFE Institutions. He was an innovative master craftsman and taught many the tradition of making beautiful Indigenous artefacts such as boomerangs, coolamons, didgeridoos and utensils that our people survived with through time.
He loved working with youth and ran Christian youth camps for almost 30 years. He was a man of great faith, not just in humanity, but his faith in Christ. There were no time constraints when in conversation with Uncle Kevin, he made time to talk to anyone and this is one thing I’ll always remember about him.
